It all started at a language exchange in Switzerland. Dáire, an English teacher from Ireland, and Carla, a software engineer from Spain, met for the first time - and noticed a common problem. Most language exchanges were disorganised and inefficient, and opportunities to practise with fluent speakers were often lost. They seemed more focused on socialising than learning.

That question became Flip Lingoes - a place to get a real chance to speak your target language. Our aim is to make language learning fun, practical, and collaborative. Our custom algorithm matches learners into small groups of up to five, creating supportive spaces where conversation flows naturally and confidence grows. Participants flip between fluent and target languages every five minutes, making it a win-win for everyone.
